Information About “BODIES OF ART” |
|
The "Bodies of Art" project's genesis comes from Jeremy Foley's childhood experiences as an actor where he was able to experience the phenomena of celebrity worship, people behaving with peculiar reverence towards the actors who have portrayed characters in movies. He saw such behavior directed towards Peirce Brosnan (007), Yancy Butler (Witchblade), Bruce Davison (X-Men, Longtime Companion), Linda Hamilton (Terminator) and many, many more. Even though Jeremy Foley was not a marquee name, he was also tracked down for autographs. One Australian fan tracked his unlisted phone number through long distance, just to get an autograph. Jeremy became aware of the traffic in celebrity items and the collectability of such items. The collectable items brought premium prices, particularly if the celebrity was dead. Unfortunately, dead celebrities can not direct the benefit from this bountiful source of income. The question became, how to allow the artist to maximize the use of his own name and image as a collectable item now, while alive. To this effect Jeremy Foley has created the Body of Art project to fund the new “Museum of Jeremy Foley”, a non-profit foundation created to expand the knowledge of Jeremy Foley through educational displays. To this end Jeremy has donated his entire archives to the museum. For more information about this museum please contact us using the information below. |
